Is this really an SS style bolt? I’m genuinely asking. And I know a lot of bad faith dialogue starts with that. I’m mostly asking because I don’t want to accidentally use something people view as an SS symbol. I hadn’t seen anyone call this the SS bolt until a few weeks ago. I always associated the flattened tips with it more.
I mean it’s verbatim a black version of the lightning bolt ⚡ emoji on Android - so it could just as easily be that. I’m no fan of ICE, but we’ve got plenty to be mad at and fight them about. When the arguments seem trivial, we lose face in public opinion.

It is possible its something else and just incredibly bad fortune and an incredibly ignorant person who wouldn’t get that connection is wearing it - but given the context that it’s ICE… I’m leaning to it being a nazi dog whistle to other like-minded ICE officers.

Cities aren’t big splotches of gray. Wearing camouflage still provides some benefit when within cities. Also, uniforms are no longer just the pattern, these uniforms would also reduce IR signatures to not be seen as easily by nighht vision equipment.
Why ICE is wearing it? Surplus. The uniforms are easy to get and identify them as some form of federal agent. The alternative is a batch of one colour uniforms which would cost a lot or go plainclothes which I consider to be worse.

I spent too much time looking for what this patch might be and didn’t find anything. The only patch I found with an NS on it was for Nova Scotia, which I have a feeling isn’t what this is.
With that said though, it’s hard to say what this is. The lightning bolt isn’t the same shape as the SS, but it is the same shape as a lot of military groups use. Who knows though. It could be a Nazi thing. They did use similar lightning bolts too I believe, just the SS one is quite different. It could still even be a reference to that, but trying to be slightly less obvious.
