ICE official, who was sleeping on man’s lawn and appeared ‘intoxicated’, faces felony charges, California police say

A 72-year-old man shot an off-duty Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) official in California early on Friday morning after the “intoxicated and agitated” official assaulted him and his daughter on their property, local authorities allege.

The Fresno police department said that the ICE official was receiving medical care after being shot in the midsection. The official, identified as David Gonzalez, is facing felony charges for assaulting the father-daughter duo, Fresno police said.

It was not immediately clear for how Gonzalez had been with ICE and what exactly he did for ICE. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which oversees ICE, referred all questions about Gonzalez to Fresno police.

I absolutely love the comments here. On cucked Reddit this would have been locked and nearly all comments deleted. I got permabanned there a couple days ago for going off on Russia and their stupid plague situation. Of course, I had previous bans, one of which was for wishing these Chinese kids, that killed those beloved village dogs a while ago, the absolute worst mob justice imaginable.

Anyway, fuck ICE, keep firing at the bastards.

“Gonzales” is a hell of a last name for a hired ethnic cleanser in California.

Shortly thereafter, the daughter’s boyfriend, an off-duty police officer, arrived and placed handcuffs on Gonzalez.

I guess luckily they had a police officer in the family? I can’t help but feel like things would have gone quite differently if they didn’t have relations with the local police force.

Yeah the blue line is wobbly on this one so whoever does cop optics first wins.

Hopefully he’ll be ashamed (not likely) and be fired and have this follow him for the rest of his life. Fuck those ICE thugs!

    Straight to jail.

This is why journalism still exists in the US for now, and why the regime is trying very hard to kill it.

It should be legal to shoot ice agents, on duty or off, particularly if they, as usual, are masked and not following police procedures. And if the man was afraid for his life, as he definitely should have been if an ice agent was involved, the precedent set by multiple high profile recent cases in other states is that it was legal. I hope that jury finds the same.

Honestly, since ICE agents don’t provide any kind of id when asked, we shouldn’t refer to them as ICE agents, because that’s really unconfirmed. It would be more appropriate to say “masked man dressed as ICE agent”, because we can’t actually know that they’re an official rather than a criminal in a costume. And obviously, the correct and rational response to being assaulted or harassed by someone in a mask is to treat them like a criminal, and defend yourself appropriately.

This isn’t self-defense, it’s just plain murder. While I don’t agree with ICE wearing masks and acting lawless, calling for more violence is not the way. Don’t become the very thing you hate.

It’s murder like in killing a Nazi soldier in France as a French during Nazi occupation in WW2. Sure, it’s illegal under the occupation forces’ law. But it’s still the right thing to do.

I appreciate your sentiment against violence more than the community at large. While I do hate needless divisiveness, as many others have already said in this instance the person in question made a conscious choice to enact the hateful, barbaric policies of the trump administration as the instrument of violence for personal profit.

We who cherish tolerance must be the most mindful of the tolerance paradox.

I really don’t think calling for no violence in a progressively more fascist, corporate-owned country that gets a hard on from shooting deadly weapons is logical.

It’s in their constitution, go wild guys. Better it used on the people harming society at large than anywhere else.

America can deepthroat the barrel of a nice thick gun and pull the trigger as the climax

Faces felony charges, but the federal department he works for passed questions to the local authorities.

They dumped him on someone else to avoid accountability. Nice. Sounds like a Trump organization.

This is best case scenario. Local investigation and charges. Otherwise the feds will block access to to evidence and just say everything was done according to the books

This just tells us there are still people in middle management who can’t stomach this shit. (Most people who couldn’t at higher levels have resigned already, and we can all see what’s coming for middle management)
