Donald Trump has been condemned as a “vile, disgusting man” and a “sick human being” after gloating over the death of Robert Mueller, a former director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Mueller, a decorated Vietnam war veteran who led a politically explosive investigation into Trump, died on Friday aged 81, triggering a callous reaction from the US president.

“Robert Mueller just died,” Trump responded quickly on his Truth Social platform. “Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people!”

Even by the president’s own norm-shredding standards, the comment was unusually harsh. There was a chorus of opprobrium from the “Never Trump” movement in his own Republican party.

Michael Steele, a former chairman of the Republican National Committee, wrote on X: “@realDonaldTrump you are a vile disgusting man. Petty and pathetic, you are a hypocrite who reeks of weakness and insecurities with no moral core. Regardless of the politics, the American people should be embarrassed and ashamed for ever having entrusted you with leadership.”

Let us also recall his remarks concerning the assassination of Jamal Khashoggi :

“You’re mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn’t like that gentleman that you’re talking about,” he said. “Whether you like him or didn’t like him, things happen.”

Like so many criticisms of others he offers, it would be perfectly applicable to himself.

This story is bs, kirk was not shot by a 30.06 or however you write thirty ought six in numbers. It’s a high powered rifle, that would have left a fist sized exit wound out of his neck. That gun, at that distance, would have made a very different wound.

He did not dissassemble the weapon in 1 minute into that tiny little pack and flee the roof, and the sheriff brought gun sniffing dogs right by that chicken coop and didn’t hit anything, until the FBI showed up, took control, and found it right off, fully assembled.

The story is bs, and lemmy moderators are sometimes in on covering it up strangely.

Terminal ballistics is basically chaos theory at work. Rifle rounds aren’t packed with explosives, they can leave relatively clean exits regardless of how much ass they have behind them. The round might have only traveled through a few inches of flesh which isn’t really enough to destabilize a round like that.

The going theory, one they have on video, mind, is that he stuffed the rifle down his pants while he scrambled off the roof, no disassembly. He hobbled to the treeline and disposed of it.

This is “the Las Vegas shooting was done by multiple CIA operatives with belt-fed machine guns to force a gun ban” levels of analysis. There’s a plausible explanation, but it’s more convenient for some people’s political biases to believe in a conspiracy.

We have seen the video, he didn’t have a rifle down his pants, come now. Link this video and argue that please if you think that.

The gun enthusiasts also used weaker and older rounds from the world wars era just to defeat these issues you mention, and they still made a different wound.

Why are you defending an obviously false narrative?

Bro, or sis, it’s absolutely true. A 30 ought six can shoot through a half inch of steel at that range. This has been demonstrated by the gun enthusiasts online. They shot all manner of objects, chunks of beef, steel plate, you name it, to demonstrate.

These rifles kill moose, elk, bear, from a distance. They have a serious foot per second to them. Like military rifles, but with a bigger caliber.

As with the other points. It’s true, the story is bs. It’s undeniably true.

He cares very much about his legacy. That’s part of why he’s trying to get his name on a bunch of stuff, build out monuments, and host celebrations. However, he thinks he’s more popular than he actually is, and doesn’t understand how anyone could not like him which leads to him thinking the legacy he is trying to manufacture is genuine and going to last.

To this day I don’t know how these people can seriously look at themselves in the mirror and not see the hypocrisy and irony of their life. Like, deep down, somewhere under the blackened heart of bigotry and ignorance and vile putrid that represents their view of their fellow man; they know they’re actually a piece of shit and the bad guys, right?

Trump: “Mueller’s report completely exonerated me.”

Also Trump: “I’m glad Mueller is dead.”

And people somehow think this lines up.
