Am I satiated now? Only time will tell.
I haven’t heard you say a word about your solar powered electric car…

Ahh yeah, the Jerry Seinfeld strategy! Wear your underwear until they’re so thin that they barely retain the properties of underwear, then open a window and let them waft out on the breeze like a dandelion.

This is off topic, but toms hardware is one of a growing list of pages using “ad recovery” services that intentionally break their own page and then blame DNS-level filters for the problem. It’s disingenuous at best and I really don’t think a site willing to employ a such deceptive tactic should be allowed to get page views.
Well I just changed my IP to 10.0.2.59 so GOOD LUCK!
So I have this old sony bravia that technically supports 120hz but only with a custom EDID, and somewhere along the line of making the EDID I screwed up the display name. But I have one HDMI going to the TV and one HDMI going to the AVR for audio (to minimize input latency). It looks even more absurd in display properties lol.

oh shit, don’t hack me bro!

I hope this is close enough.

With a nice, big disclaimer.

GURU bills itself as an official repository that’s user-maintained. AUR makes no claims of being official as far as I can see from their website.

Oh yeah that’s what I’m using. Thanks though!

In my case you can unironically blame Valve. I wanted an Arch-based distro to stay as close to SteamOS as possible but I have an nvidia GPU for the foreseeable future (unless I win the lottery or something).

Arch USER Repository. Use the official repositories if it’s a concern.

It’s definitely because of Louis. He’s been doing a lot of work in the right to repair field, as well as this whole fuckin fiasco that Bambu (the 3d printer company) got themselves into by violating the LGPL license with some software. Streisand’d themselves good on that one.
was gonna say the same thing. needs a few boxes under the tv.
It’s the “relativity of simultaneity” concept transformed into a social domain instead of a spatial one!
Paper wasps are okay, they just want to eat rotting wood to make their nests. Fuuuuuuck eastern yellowjackets though. I’m pretty sure those assholes sting you on sight because they enjoy it. They make me glad that we also have bald-faced hornets to keep them in check.
Less mentioned downside - digital rights management is significantly degraded in linux. Most commercial streaming apps/sites will work but but only at SD or 720p.

This is the same business model that tech “startups” use, just at a vastly accelerated time table. Upend some existing market (in this case, several markets) by burning through cash at an unsustainable rate. Once your customers have been hooked, and/or the alternatives eliminated as competitors, you crank up the prices to try and make the business cashflow positive.
Unironically yes haha. I hope it’s just a manual lawn mower that you have your son push around.
