For those unfamiliar with the brand:

Cheba Hut started in Arizona but currently has its headquarters in Fort Collins, Colorado, a state known for its friendly cannabis laws. The restaurant is known for embracing cannabis culture and has sandwiches named after weed strains.

They even refer to their beverages as “cottonmouth cures.”

    Here is their menu: https://www.chebahut.com/menu

Love cheba hut. Been a while since I’ve been to the OG location but they even added a small bar in it last I’d been. they really have spread so much since I started going there with my dad years ago.

They better be quick to update that sign when the billboard updates. Otherwise it’s gonna raise some… questions

I mean it’s literally called cheba hut. it’s like working at a place called Mary Jane’s “Baked” Goods and wondering why there’s so many stoners around

I remember when cheba uptown first opened in Minneapolis, I thought they were selling subs with THC in them somehow. My disappointment was immeasurable

Yeah, that would make more sense. I don’t understand the allure of having your sandwich assembled by someone who is pretty much guaranteed to be high. It’s like ok, bread, mayo, meat, stare into space for a couple of seconds, or was it twenty minutes? This sandwich would probably be better with a fork on it.

Their staff are always super friendly and at least the few times I been, made pretty dank sandwiches so 🤷‍♀️

WTF are you smoking to make you lose track of time like that? Are you sure it’s pot and not, like, salvia?

the billboard is probably referring to growth hormones. some other companies do the same claim in their marketing… but growth hormones have been banned in that industry in the u.s. since like the 1950s.

As far as I know, it’s because American eggs are required to be washed and sterilized whereas European eggs are the exact opposite, they are left unwashed. Both are perfectly fine, you just need to know to wash them before eating them in Europe. apparently you don’t need to wash them in Europe, just don’t eat the shell 🍳

Washing breaks the natural anti-bacterial barrier of eggs, leaving them prone to salmonella, and they have to be refrigerated to avoid contamination.

I have no idea why they do this.

Because washing the eggs allows you to cover up the fact that the hens are crammed so tight that the eggs are covered in shit by the time they’re collected.

Making it illegal to wash the eggs forces farmers to maintain some semblance of sanitary conditions.

They’re often crammed very tight in Europe as well, but it depends on the type of egg you buy.

Having a tiny bit of shit on it is uncommon, and people understand that it’s going to happen sometimes with a natural product that comes out of a chicken’s ass.

Battery cages are illegal in the EU, and the minimum provision for caged hens is 750cm^2 per bird.

The US has no such law, but “industry standard” is 430 to 550cm^2 per bird.
