There was a VR experiment in which the participants were subjected to racial abuse. They became more compassionate and empathetic afterwards. The expression “put yourself in someone else’s shoes” really is true.

You cannot please the leopards. Not even if you help in starting the youth chapter of Leopards Eating People’s Faces Party.

TBF, the far-right already experimented with attempting to convert gamers to fascism, there are even nazi and even some “I swear I’m not a nazi, I’m a centrist with negative racial experiences” games.

Typical fucking selfish person. I had no idea how it was until it happened to me. Can we learn a bit more empathy?

And he got the VIP treatment of not going to an actual camp for months on end.

I’d say this is a great time for him to reflect and change his ways but after a week he’s gonna go back to his same old grift.

Seriously, he was sent to his country of origin fairly quickly. And now he’s feeling sorry for himself instead of the people dying of medical neglect in detention centres and being shipped off to a fucking Venezuelan labour camp.

“I didn’t really understand the physical reality of how institutionalised the brutality is in America,” Yiannopoulos said.

“ICE is supposed to be deporting criminals,” he said. “And they’re not doing that.”

“I think maybe, in the past, I’ve been a little bit blase when people talked about their trauma,” he said. “But I get it now, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.”

If only there was a way to know and acknowledge these things without having to personally experience them.

But I get it now, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

He says, after literally wishing it on thousands and thousands of people for over a decade. And he is not experiencing their trauma. Regular people taken by ICE are often held for months, separated from their families, and sometimes deported to places they’re not even from originally. He was held for less than a week and sent back to the UK to do the Piers Morgan right wing talk show circuit.

I cannot express strongly enough how thoroughly he can go fuck himself.

Conservatives are completely incapable of empathizing. They just cannot do it. Therefore, in order to make them understand, should they be subjected to all of the trauma they subjected to others to?

It makes more sense to me if I think of him as literally having no actual beliefs. He found a way to profit from Nazi propaganda so he does that. He probably has just considered himself immune to any of these issues until now, because he’s rich and (in)famous.

It’s part of the indoctrination of high-control systems, to obey out of fear of punishment, as they were treated. It’s their turn to punch down!

If this comment gets to or above +50 net upvotes, I’ll pin this to the top of the community for a week. What an amazing, special specimen of LAMF. (Not farming upvotes; just trying to make sure I’m not BDFL’ing by unilaterally playing favorites. Was going to ask about this on the Reuters post, but it critically lacked Milo’s reaction.)

It’s funny, I haven’t seen a single person saying good another defector. Like with others some defend them coming over against the worse guys. Not with him.

Usual conservative take, ignorant of the realities they directly create and when subjected to them, suddenly become indignant (of that specific issue). Utterly incapable of empathy, only able to experience a tightly scoped simulacrum of it when they become the one under the gun. They delight in the misery of others they target, then suddenly indignant when it’s visited upon them…complete human boat anchor trash…

Milo received a small part of what he advocated visiting on the undesirables.

That said, there is something to this story. He pissed off some maga aligned bigwig. He also repudiated prez in 2020 or something. Then went on a crusade to pull the catholics to the right, despite being gay, he lied about having not being gay anymore around 2020 when he did that.

He also repudiated prez in 2020 or something.

He’s not even “repudiating prez” now.

“To think that the promise and hope and joy and the anticipation of Trump 2016 could, sort of, over the course of 10 years, collapse into this ugly, warmongering, whole mentally ill heap of crazy with some of the most unstable and lunatic people, seemingly directing the president’s actions.”

Good tsar, bad boyars. This demonstrates that he still has hopes for an “in” and is still completely full of shit.

In any dictatorship, any criticism is directed at subordinates of the leader, and couched in terms that the great leader does not know this villainy is afoot.

The maga conspirators seem to all think the country is more corrupt than it is. Yet.
