Its part of consolidating power in the executive. Congress used to have to approve a lot and legislate. Now they dont pass any laws and the president and his cabinet make policy. They’ve been working on the Supreme Court too, trying to consolidate courts power in the executive as well. Not quite done yet, but most court decisions from the unqualified scum he appoints are just rubber stamps of “the executive has plenary power.” There’s a reason that word caught people’s attention when Miller said it.

The president used to have to make his case to congress before starting a war with another sovereign nation. Not anymore. Everything now automatically qualifies as defensive/police action or some other phrase to mean that war is now just a regular part of how we keep ourselves secure. No need to ask if a particular one is justified.

Now the president is asking if he can use the military against the citizens of its own country. Something that should only be allowed in the most extreme cases. We’re talking once in a lifetime events, once in a century. Rarer maybe. Maybe never. And after they give him the thumbs up, anything will become the justification for using the military on its own people. Just part of how we keep people safe.

We spend the overwhelming majority of our budget revenue on the military. When the only tool you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. Ill tell you what, I dont feel safe and secure. And doing this shit makes me feel less safe and secure.

This isnt Democrats or Republicans we have e yo watch ou for. Its people defending capital from labor. Dems are not a labor party, they are a neoliberal party.
