      Oh this is interesting logic. So you’re saying: it’s not the party/president that actually did the shitty thing thats at fault, but because the other party/president allowed the possibility and did not do enough to prevent the current one from doing so.

      Is that what you mean by “set the stage”?

        I mean the initial party you mention already did enough shitty things and as a result they dumped water on the fire that was their own support setting the stage for a criminal, serial-adulterer, hate-monger to win the election for the second time. If the Democrat-candidate realized that nobody owes them anything and actually tried to earn the support of the voters, she’d probably be president now, but somehow she got into a contest of “who’s the bigger narciscist” just like Hillary, and everybody lost except Trump, but that’s only a small reason why I didn’t vote for this deeply unpopular candidate. Regardless, if the democrat establishment can’t figure this out, they will continue losing elections.

        More to the point -if the elected official does not represent the will or desire of the people then what kind of Democracy(aka a ‘representative democratic republic’) can really exist?
