In an interview with two Times reporters, President Trump blamed the G.O.P.’s losses on the fact that he was not on the ballot and said he was willing to work with Democrats.

President Trump said Tuesday night that he would accept the results of the midterm elections and was prepared to work with Democrats.

“I am absolutely willing to accept those results,” he said in an interview with The New York Times.

He added: “We’ll work with the Democrats, and we’ll, you know, look forward to working with them. We’ll probably work something out.”

Mr. Trump blamed Republican losses on the fact that he was not on the ballot and said he had no regrets about endorsing candidates such as Senator Darline Graham, Republican of South Carolina, and Ken Paxton, the Republican attorney general of Texas.

Keep telling yourself that, you delusional fuckwit, but you very much were on the ballot.

It’s crazy that something that should be so fucking normal is a headline: President says he will “accept” the election results.

Because, yeah, motherfucker, that’s how it should work, at least when one party is not absolutely unhinged.

    Press x to doubt

I foresee a massive amount of presidential and administration fuckery to try and ensure this doesn’t happen come 2028. I do also hope Democrats do not try and “work together” now that they have the House and Senate. Hold the current administration to account for all the past fuckery! Republicans used their prior House and Senate advantage to ram through plenty of non-partisan legislation…

Doubt it. Seems like he’s just going to blame them for the economy crashing/ ai burst coming soon and he’s calm because he knows he has a manipulative plan in store for this already.

The road to 2028 is going to be brutal. Even if there isn’t a crash we all know focks nooz and other propaganda stations are going to immediately start blaming everything on Dems. They try to pass legislation to fix things or make life less miserable for people and the orange pedo will block as much as he can and those “news” stations will just say they didn’t want to work with the prez and couldn’t pass anything.

Make him veto everything then. I have no problem with that. If they can point to good policy that passes both chambers but then got vetoed I’m fine with that. I’d rather they do that than cave on issues.

Budgets should be fun next year :|

If by “work with” he means complying with subpoenas for testimony and evidence about Epstein, Iran, ICE, corruption, embezzlement, and a million other things and then surrending peacefully upon arrest after an onslaught of 2028 DoJ criminal referrals, I actually agree with him. Looking forward to it, actually.

I would prefer he faced some consequences instead. If he keeled over tomorrow, he’d would have won. He’d gotten of with a full life of scamming and abuse. I hope he gets to spend a few years behind bars, alone, seeing all he built falling apart

I get the sentiment; but just dying very soon, would diminish all the other harmful things, trump will do (lame duck or not). But it would have to be a death fairly soon, and I would wish it to be painful. Otherwise, on board with your hopes for trump’s longer term future.

Exactly. I want him in prison, then he can die all he wants. Even on the first day. I want him to KNOW he lost. He has to die in prison.

I was listening to NPR interview some asshole from the heritage foundation tonight before the results started rolling in. Suddenly, this motherfucker is using the word “bipartisanship.” After all the terrorism that was Project 2025, this motherfucker wants to talk about bipartisanship.

Right wing scum bag commentators on other news outlets are doing the same. Dems, after taking control of Congress must messege well; and actually try to do legislation that will especially lift lower to middle class economic prospects. However, I am all for dems using all ways possible, to frustrate every plan of republicans that does not directly hurt their constituents. Also, I hope the dems will use every shitty political underhanded means, to push forth their agenda; as ‘‘working’’ with the repubs is likely, not often possible. That is one thing that worries me about polticians like Talarico; that they might be too high minded, and good intentioned; when often they need to see republican’s clearly for what they are: anti-democracy, greedy, power loving syncophants.

Why bother asking the opinion or perspective of a habitual liar, charlatan and egomaniac?

When it comes to American news, I’ve filtered out this orange beanbag when it comes to national US news.

      ding-ding-ding

Uncharacteristically conciliatory. This is just the first countermove in the war that is going to be fought in the coming 2 years.

Particularly annoying because he’s basically dismissing the widespread damage he already did to whatever’s left of democracy in the US.
