Hm. Guess it’s not simply the billionaires fucking us over. Thanks, fuckers. The food could’ve gone to the needy.
We don’t need things like refrigerators internet connected! Problem solved.
I bet they caused the historic covered market to burn down too.
How does a fidge is able to heat stuff? I thought it was just able to cool stuff and, well, not cool stuff, but never imagined it can heat up stuff? What am I missing?
Edit: thanks to the guys who replied. TIL. What’s up with the downvoters, I was genuinely ignorant and wanted to learn, geee…
“Frost free” refrigerators and freezers, even residential ones, work by heating the evaporator from time to time, melting the frost that inevitably forms there. This is one reason “frost free” appliances use more energy than the old fashioned ones that have to be defrosted.
Commercial freezers have an electronic defrost that heats them up to save time.
Some refrigerant systems have a valve that can allow the Freon to take a different route avoiding the evaporator coils. When it runs that way it is essentially just distributing heat that the freon generates as it’s pumped through the system.
