So what’s the plan here, let the cons fail to solve the housing crisis and point to that failure a year later?

Everyone knows the housing crisis will not be solved in a year. Sanchez hopes it will be the main topic of these elections but even he knows they have to happen soon or people will move on. If he’s lucky the right will not be able to change the focus and he will lose but not that much. If he’s unlucky the focus will switch to immigration again and he will lose by a lot.

People keep making comments like this.

But they kind of just ignore that our country is the equivalent of 50 Spains.

Very easy to say “just make change, bro”. But even the EU, which doesn’t have 50 members, can’t agree on much.

Beyond sick of the we are so big change is impossible bullshit.

        (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Spain is 50 times the size of somewhere else.

The EU is a lot of different countries. America is a country. A country full of people looking for excuses. Dealt the easiest life in the world and still looking to complain.

Your logic is far too simplistic. All I can say is you don’t understand what you’re talking about.

America also simply isn’t a parliamentary government and federal general elections can’t be called on a whim.

That said, we absolutely should have a Constitutional requirement for recall elections in all offices.

country is the equivalent of 50 spains

I get the sentiment but the disparity isn’t that big. Population wise the US is ~7 times bigger. Spain also has 17 provinces and 2 of them: Catalonia and basque country, have pretty significant separatist movements, and they had a civil war more recently then the US, so it isn’t exactly that much more unified then the US. They also have a similarly sized congress, so wrangling votes is just as hard.

I think it’s more because of their political culture and constitution rather then their size.

Trust me we’d love to do something like this. The sad reality is too many people let the corruption fester because it benifits them and they refused to update our outdated methods to hold them accountable because it benefits them.

I’m really sorry everyone else has to suffer because of us.

Let’s hope the gamble pays out. His minority government failed to have measures on housing pass in parliament. They were to do something and got blocked. If it pans out, maybe they can get the extra reach they need. If not, things can get a lot worse for Spain.

I wouldn’t count chickens yet. The next government could be a lot worse. Filled with Zionist influencers too.
