You know how dumb you sound calling sheet wood cardboard? Would you let me hit you with a piece of the “card board” and then we can discuss the difference?

No because I can tell you the difference between a brick and a stone, I’m just asking if I can hit you with a couple pieces of cardboard. Or maybe just interest you in some basic engineering?

We also use sheet wood in Europe frequently, so we’re very familiar with it. We just don’t use it for our outer walls and load bearing parts of a structure.

We also don’t use it for load bearing parts of the structure? Thats the wood studs. wood siding helps with lateral forces and makes the load bearing parts rigid. I’ve been seeing the cardboard joke for 30 years now and im stuck in a house with actual cardboard siding, because again sheathing isn’t load bearing. Its crazy that americans built $20,000 mobile homes and housed all the rural poor in them, its crazy they had cardboard walls. but again this was all 30+ years ago, we build things better now, ya’ll can retire the joke, the only people living in cardboard houses are like me, poor and destitute with no other options.

It was obviously hyperbole. When it comes to soundproofing, sheet wood is about as effective as cardboard, though.

Probably even worse; cardboard (like used for boxes) has a lot of air pockets in it, whereas a ‘solid’ wooden board probably adds resonance.

It wasnt even hyperbole, I live in a house made of actual cardboard siding. Like you’re just making fun of poor people and being ignorant, unoriginal, and not funny. I’m certain you have enough wit to come up with an original joke that makes sense.

Right, but you’re forgetting siding --> air gap—>sheetwood----> studbay with foam or glass----> drywall. Thats 4 layers of material to absob soundwaves and displace them. So again it just is a silly joke, its older than you are, find some better material. As i originally stated saying that makes you sound like an ignorant asshole. We also will do offset studbays to increase the material and differentiate the sound path. The engineering is cool. If you’d stop acting like a smart ass you might find it interesting.

DELETED BY THE CREATOR AS HE DISCOVERED WHAT HYPERBOLE IS AND THERE’S MORE THAN ONE USE. Feels bad doesnt it? Silly child. Imagine using hyperbole to respond to hyperbole and getting a downvote swarm AND a link to hyperbole. Get a life.

Welll, if you’re gonna be like that, fine, I’ve undeleted it. Jesus dude. Chill the fuck out. You’re getting downvoted because you’re being a belligerent dickhead over nothing.
