    This just means that no one watches TV news anymore. I have free cable, long story, and I still don’t watch it.

      Indeed. I had a choice to make when broadband was first rolled out in my hometown. Pay for cable TV or internet. Didn’t have the capability for both, and figured that paying for a two-way communication service was a better deal, so the cable TV was cut in '99.

      I used to watch the network nightly news on youtube but I noticed that the programming got shorter and shorter each year… as the commericals took more of the half-hour airtime… it was like… naaah… so quit it all and switched to news journals and independent sources.
