Rapper Macklemore is a vocal supporter of Palestine and Gaza residents. During a recent concert at MetLife Stadium, he yelled “Free Palestine!” onstage, projected images of devastation in the area, and performed protest song “Hind’s Hall.”
Now, it seems that American venues are not willing to play ball with the Seattle artist, and he has been dropped from Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour.
“After discussions with stakeholders, Macklemore will not be performing on the remaining support dates,” according to Messina Touring Group, the promoter of Loop Tour. This news follows backlash from organizations like StopAntisemitism and others, such as pop star Pink.

Well yes and so are Israelis since Jews in exile have historically kept themselves a bit isolated from other groups, but Palestinians (or their predecessors) and Judeans intermingled more in the olden times than Palestinians and Israelis do now. If you go back further than Jesus’ era, they share common ancestry. The distinction has grown bigger over time.
Additionally, historic Palestine was mostly Jewish before Islam took hold. So there were fewer cultural differences back then too. Even now, there are Jews (both religion and ethnicity) in Palestine and Arabs and Muslims (largely overlapping) in Israel, with many of those Arabs being Palestinian Arabs.
Makes the whole conflict look even more stupid, doesn’t it?
There was no mass displacement of Jews when Arabs conquered it meaning a large numbers of palestinians are simply Israelites and Jews that was arabized and islamized. Also the land was inhabited way before Israelites ever existed
so it just… took hold? Sort of organically? By “Islam took hold” you are glossing over an anti-roman/anti-greek genocide, and arrival of what they claimed was their end-of-days messiah (Simon Bar Kokhba), which started the 3 Roman-Jewish wars, and then the counter-genocide the romans launched which destroyed the temple in Jerusalem, scattered the jewish faith, changed it from a temple sacrifice based religion to a decentralize rabbinic one. After which the hebrew language disappeared for 2000 years, and was only very recently recreated and resurrected from fragments of purely written word. I think that history is worth mentioning. Those 3 wars depopulated much of the SE Mediterranean and were an important part of the history of the region that is still echoing today. If we forget history we encourage people to just create whatever stories serve their modern politics. Thats not healthy. We all deserve the truth.
