    Oh it was illegal?
    I didn’t know that.
But it doesn’t matter, I would have done it anyway.

Like it matters, if there’s no consequences, then there’s no laws.

I keep seeing “Trump did this unlawfully”, but until someone gets the bollocks to stand up to him, it’s all pointless.

In a related decision, Judge Illston criticized FEMA and Homeland Security officials for using the Signal messaging app on personal phones to discuss the workforce cuts and deleting the text records. The judge said she will presume that the deleted messages contained evidence showing the government acted unlawfully.

Shouldn’t someone have gone to jail just for that?

Wake me when there’s any consequences, and I don’t mean people dying unnecessarily when the next disaster hits.

I knew they fired a lot of them, but I didn’t realize that they were cutting people in half. Absolutely barbaric.

A federal judge ruled that the Department of Homeland Security broke the law by ordering the Federal Emergency Management Agency to reduce its workforce by 50 percent.

U.S. District Judge Susan Illston found that DHS unlawfully usurped FEMA’s authority when blocking contract renewals for thousands of disaster reservists, violating a post-Katrina 2005 statute protecting the agency’s functions. Illston also penalized officials for using and deleting Signal app messages regarding the cuts. While no immediate penalties were set, the court plans to decide union remedies next month.

I thought the definition of breaking the law and penalties require some consequence. Otherwise it’s just suggestions. Fucking do something already, Jesus fucking christ.

Of course they cut the workforce, the states that didn’t vote Trump aren’t eligible for FEMA help anymore so might as well fire them all
