The Justice Department and FBI announced court-authorized domain seizures today to deny malicious cyber actors access to two complementary hacking platforms known as “QScan” and “QTRouter,” used to target U.S. critical infrastructure and other sensitive networks.
As described in court documents unsealed in the Southern District of California, a People’s Republic of China (PRC) state-sponsored group known as “QTFY,” employed by China-based Nanjing Xinjiuwei Network Technology Company (南京鑫玖维网络科技有限公司), created and operated QScan and QTRouter.
Among the victims of QTFY computer intrusion activity are the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Federal Reserve, Department of Energy, Department of Justice, Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health, and the U.S. Senate.
Imagine that, who could have thought that this dipshit administration making drastic cuts to the cyber security teams at CISA could have a negative impact?
I’m actually surprised it hadn’t happened sooner.
Release the Epstein files for funsies.
Hard to take anything these morons take seriously. I’d need to see some receipts to even half believe this isn’t the setup to declare an emergency in an attempt to delay or deny the midterm outcomes.
DOGE
The US is claiming they “denied access” to China via domain seizures? What?
The Tom’s Hardware article makes it sound like the attackers were using IoT botnets which I’m guessing were using known domains to coordinate.
Sounds like the US organisations used the same competency for their IT that they use for their leaders.
Also if it really happened they would have released the unredacted Epstein files.
A ton of our cyber security was opened up when DOGE tore through government departments to steal their data and give it to private companies
Sure they did.
