Being a streaming platform doesn’t preclude it from also being a social media site. This is a bullshit deflection.
They have user registration and profiles, publication of user generated content, and interaction with that content through comments, likes, following and subscribing. Sure sounds like social media to me.
I know a lot of people feel that they require new subscribers, and interaction to feel like they are achieving their goals on YouTube. It has the same feedback loop as Facebook.

If it’s not social media, then my undergrad professor needs to fix my test scores. Because I incorrectly assumed it was not, almost a decade ago.
