World News@lemmy.world•Thailand slashes visa durations for 93 countries over tourists’ behaviourEnglish
134·1 month agoOut of his ass apparently. Never mentioned in the article.
As much as I despise that warmongering genocidal state, making up bullshit is not helping the overall cause and makes people question the genuine allegations

World News@lemmy.world•Trump gives EU until 4 July to ratify trade deal or face ‘much higher’ tariffsEnglish
6·1 month agoIt’s just another distribution of wealth to the top. The cash is collected, the tariffs deemed illegal and the big box stores keep the money. The courts will get overwhelmed with class actions and the consumer will get $2.75 back if they can send in their receipts.

News@lemmy.world•US national debt is now bigger than the economy for first time since World War II
21·2 months agoIt’s worth a try. We can’t afford any such accumulation of wealth and the power and influence that comes with it. Assets can go into the public hand, I don’t mind if that is managed by democratically elected representatives that are not corrupted like the majority in government now.

11·2 months agoIt’s time to cut billionaires and corrupt politicians in half.
But yes, the USD is loosing power and the strategy of printing more to cover their debt while the world is selling off their stockpile will quickly make inflation go brrrrrrrrr. So much winning

Technology@lemmy.world•Age checks could turn internet into an ID checkpoint and would kill anonymity, Proton CEO saysEnglish
3·2 months agoThanks for sharing, I don’t think this is much more. Corporate Dems are an issue and I wish I was in the timeline where Bernie became president. Saying Republicans are better (in 2025) is either extremely naive or insane. Either way, it does not give me the faith I would like to stay with Proton long term. Posting official stuff, pulling it back, now claiming neutrality… confidence is eroded enough.
I have the Duo plan until mid next year and see it as my inbetween from iCloud to self hosting most of my services. Currently trialing Mullvad for the VPN and it can keep up with Proton easily.
