There are many variants. Also APL2.0 is just as permissive but protects against patent trolling

Linux@lemmy.ml•Is anyone making a frontend player for the music Anna recently archived from Spotify?
2·9 days agoOr all the arr things
Havent heard of popcorn time yet
Edit: while I like the idea, I hope that the software at least seeds to ratio 1 by default. Otherwise it is pretty unsustainable for the network

10·9 days agoGet torrent archives when they are ready, select the music you like and share that. Way more sustainable than streaming from a hobby project that already costs them insane amounts
You can patch the kernel live? I know that Ubuntu does that
Fun fact, there isnt even an “MIT license”, look:

Linux@programming.dev•Thinking about switching from fish to bash + extensions
2·1 month agoI think i use dash as my standard shell, but fish as my user shell. So it might point to fish, which doesnt work. Only using fish in my terminal could fix this.

1·2 months agoI think so. If I do
./script.shI get fish errors, same with. script.shOnly
sh script.shworks, which is dash inside of fish

12·2 months agoIf a project is permissively licensed, it might disappear and become proprietary any time. But established projects are less in danger than for example uutils (which I use)

2·2 months agoYes that is what I do. But bash snippets dont work in fish.
I could learn something better like lua, but never used it
