6·2 days ago 6·2 days ago- I agree with this. This is not something that normal families should try and fix. Donate to a food bank so people in need get the food. Then fucking vote these fucks out of office. - Not everyone trick or treating needs hand outs. Not everyone in need is it trick or treating.
- That’s not what I’m saying. I’m saying that the most basic of math should be as basic as reading. Something that anyone can do themselves. - Do you honestly think that for the rest of your life every moment will let a calculator or ChatGPT help you have every interaction you have? People are perfectly capable of basic math.
- No, I’m here in good faith. - Being alarmed, I suppose, would be the subjective assessment that this isn’t too far off from all the cognitive decline correlated to excessive use of AI. It’s an extrapolation, sure, but similar. - It’s lovely to think that a phone will always be right on us all, for the rest of our lives. IRL, shit happens. Sometimes people just dug a calf out of a pond, their phone got soaked, and they still need to divide 250 lbs of fertilizer by 10 barrels and not be seized by indecision because there’s not a cell phone around.
- OK, but do you mean the actual text is from a story where this text is the gibberish that summons Cthulu? Or that it’s a translated piece of text from that story that is now in Welsh?
- I genuinely can’t tell of this is real Welsh or just gibberish with a random ’
- The issue is that the floor on confidence in knowledge is now basically nothing. - Why is it that 8th graders in 1990 could do solid algebra and polynomials on paper and not need help? Nothing about the math has changed. - Slide rules do not do basic math, that’s a poor comparison. People that did higher math on slide rules only used it for part of the problem dealing with logarithms, and that was a shorthand for larger approximation tables in books. That’s necessary help. Solving for 2+2 is not. That’s for little children that count on their fingers. If you’re not in the “WTF?” camp, you’re part of the problem.
- I saw that. It’s fucking breathtaking, the apologists for stupidity. - If I go start an account on a .ml instance and claim letters and numbers are colonial, patriarchal constructs and should be eliminated, I’ll be the most popular poster until I accidentally make everyone illiterate out of spite.

- Trevelor A. Deventure - But his middle name is also Adventure.
51·10 days ago 51·10 days ago- Do you mean bad incentives? - And sure, I don’t disagree, but these people are also not actually that smart. I would worry more about this getting hacked in a week way before Elon gets a chance to use it against anyone.
101·10 days ago 101·10 days ago- Quick everyone, install this just so that if Pete Hegseth invites people to the next airstrikes chat group, your satirical JD Vance account will be next to the real JD Vance’s account and he’ll probably add you both and figure it out later.
151·10 days ago 151·10 days ago- Never attribute to malice what can be attributed to incompetence.
19·10 days ago 19·10 days ago- SSSSsssnnoooooooo0000ooooooort! - Nya! Wow, yeah, that’s better than rhino horn. WHOO, definitely lead-based paint in that shit! WHOOO!
105·10 days ago 105·10 days ago- I am genuinely shocked at little these days. - I am absolutely floored that Trump, of all people didn’t devise a way to sell tiny little bits of the East Wing to MAGA chuds for $4700 an ounce. - Like, you want a cognitive test he just failed? A pure gold grift just passed him by. Someone call a doctor, he’s not doing OK.
- AWS server US-East 1 went down yesterday, causing a massive internet blackout. It was an internal oopsie, someone did something that caused a problem with DNS resolution. Basically, you go looking for something and the server was like “Uh…Oh, I should know this? Oh, shoot. Uh… uh…I give up,I dunno.” - The screencap is from the end of Blade Runner 2049, a movie about humans and “replicants” that are really good cyborgs. I won’t spoil the movie for you, but it’s a joke about AI in a context about AI kind of thing.
- Same for hippos. - Hippos are monsters. They kill for the joy of killing. They’re vegetarians! They kill as many humans in Africa every year as crocs. - They spray their shit around by spinning their tiny tail as they shit, like a shit-filled garden hose. - They are moist and gross. Their call is laughing maniacally at the world. Moo Deng is damp Chucky without thumbs.
- Sure, but this is a heat map. It’s only relative, not objective. If most of these were 3 months old, and one was only 2 months old, the 3 months would all be in the green.
- The age of a VPN isn’t a good indicator of how secure it is. - So then delete the row. OP, you control the spreadsheet, right? - Also, heat map conditional formatting favoring free is a bad metric. Free VPNs steal data, and Tor isn’t a VPN, so this skews all the other paid options to seem negative.

There better be a restaurant somewhere putting an egg on avocado toast and calling it that.
