  • Iirc the current consensus among critical/secular Bible scholars is that he was probably a real guy, but the stories about him in the Bible are mostly fictional (eg, he was probably born in Nazareth, not Bethlehem, did not have any supernatural abilities, and did not resurrect after being executed). Pretty sure Josephus, a historian who wrote a few decades after the historical Jesus would have died mentioned him, and iirc there’s at least one or two other mentions of him in non-Christian sources (or non Christian adjacent, Christian orthodoxy hadn’t really formed yet) from the first century CE.

Imo the most likely scenario is that the historical Jesus was an apocalyptic Jewish preacher who publicly opposed the Roman state and was executed for it, and most of what we consider modern Christianity was invented by Paul and his clique.

  • KDE has nearly all of these now. Not all of them are official Wayland protocols (I think global keyboard shortcuts fall under that umbrella still). Some of the issues you’re complaining about I’ve never even seen a Wayland desktop have (eg not letting you set a window to stay on top, literally every wayland desktop I’ve ever used has had this).

And graphical performance for Wayland native apps has been on par with or superior to xorg for a while, however running software through XWayland does add some latency, so for very fast-paced games running in Wine, X11 is still the move.

  • I mean the best local models are only a few months behind the the best proprietary cloud models. Just look at Qwen 3.8 Flash or 27B. Imo local models are more than sufficient if you’re going to use AI for programming. Who cares if the small model can’t oneshot the whole patch, you shouldn’t be submitting raw LLM code to public repos anyway. Imo the only acceptable use of LLMs for coding is as a way of rapidly prototyping ideas that you will later mostly/entirely rewrite by hand, or as an extra static analysis tool for finding potential security holes.

And as someone who frankly doesn’t give a shit about intellectual property over code, my main ethical issue with LLMs is the monstrous resource consumption of hyperscale datacenters, so local models are strongly preferable. Also for privacy reasons.

  • Just burn the CDs to your phone? You can get digital audio off a CD and put it on whatever device you want, no idea why someone would give up their CD collection without at least backing it up to a hard drive first. Even if you don’t have any PCs with a disc drive, you can get a USB DVD-ROM drive (or even BD/BDXL if you wanna play blu-rays or save backups to BDXL discs because AI has murdered the price of SSDs/HDDs) pretty cheap.

  • Stop complaining what the government and change it yourself. You have the voting power. Get off your butts. Stop complaining about wages and unionize. Etc etc etc

You realize these are not mutually exclusive, right? This seems like the lead poisoning talking ngl.

you guys like to hit on boomers

Also that is Not what “hit on” means lmfao. I’d rather hit on a slime mold.
