You’re on Hexbear. There’s your problem.
I suggest creating another account on some other instance. Start with Lemmyverse to find a nice one. Once you find an interesting instance, check Fediseer for more details. Click the little (i) next to the instance name in the Lemmyverse results, and navigate to Fediseer endorsements. If the instance has been endorsed, censored or whatever, this is the place where you’ll find some info about it.
For example, here’s what it says about Hexbear. As you can see in the “censures received” section, that list is pretty long. BTW all the biggest instances attract attention, so disagreement and conflict naturally follow. However, the way the instance is run plays a role too. If you want to access more communities, make an account on one of the less conspicuous instances that hasn’t been blocked by others.

!linuxmemes@lemmy.world would probably appreciate this one.

Can’t they just lump all the fees together?
Main product itself: 10
Unspecified fees (don’t ask): 160
Who knows.
My guess is that eventually they’ll cross some invisible line and their former allies begin to turn against them. Where that line is can also change depending on the global political atmosphere. As long as Russia and USA interfere with the Middle East, we’re locked in a proxy war style situation with no clear way out. If Russia and USA suddenly loose interest in this eternal war zone, then Israel would need to watch out, because crossing that invisible line would have consequences, and the line would be a lot closer than ever before.
For the time being though, I don’t think Israel needs to worry about that. They could start using Zyklon B on Palestinian children, and the world would not interfere.
Well some of them would, because that’s how international politics works. However, a surprising number of countries have recognized Palestine, so I think the number of friends Israel has might be in a decline.
Exactly! They picked one of the foolish routes instead.
Too late for that. They screwed up.
Israel has no way to win in this situation. Torturing her will result in a media backlash. Executing her would only make a martyr, which is even worse. Somehow, Israel didn’t choose to kick her out immediately.

Sure, the UI can be nicer on small displays, but the app tends to have fewer features than the site. Just don’t see much real benefit in that.

Lots of things are apps even though a website would have been good enough or better. It’s just insane these days.

Exactly! If your app can be wiped off the face of the Internet on a moment’s notice, you’re clearly putting way too many eggs in one basket. Even a mobile friendly website would be good, but a proper web app would be so much nicer.
It’s a gateway drug. Before you know it, she’ll be installing Arch without the script.

How about we just call it “The Standard Unit” and choose U its symbol. You know, just to mess around with all the other “units” we have for everything. I’m looking at you, Enzyme unit, in particular. Also, the “Astronomical Unit” was a pretty obnoxious name too, so points for that.

Oh, the sports games. Those are a special breed! I think it was NHL 95 or something when I realized that they are pumping these games every year and hardly anything changes in between. Always made me wonder who pays for this trash. Just walk to the nearest game store, buy a used 4 year old NHL of FIFA game, and you’re all set for a long time.
I don’t know how that would work nowadays since steam games are a thing. I guess you just wait for the -90% discount and buy the NHL/FIFA 2019 or whatever.

My thoughts exactly. Since the 2010s EA has been going down the dark path of lootboxes and micro transactions, so there’s literally nothing left to save any more. I’m sure they’re going to find new and profitable ways to enshittify the company even further, but it’s been just total shit for such a long time already that nothing will change the general stench.

A good rule of thumb in statistics is that a sample size of about 30 will give you some idea of the standard deviation. Anything less than that, and your analysis is on shaky ground. In logistics terms, all you need to get started is just one truck load of anti-vaxxers.

It’s still in its infancy. Give it a few centuries. Back in the 1400s physics was still full of opinions rather than theories backed up by empirical experiments. Economics hasn’t even figured out what the elementary particles or fundamental forces really are or how to measure them. That’s why all the models are pretty vague and qualitative at the moment.
Less money spent on services means more money can be spent on the king’s new palace. At least that’s the way it worked in France long ago.
If the numbers are public, have a look at what your local dictator is spending it on.
