I thought Elon owned that privately, but the fact that he parasitised his monetary black hole of a purchase onto his most successful company really just shows how fucking stupid Musk actually is.

Though I really shouldn’t be surprised as his other monetary black hole venture, xAI, is also parasitised onto SpaceX.

Yeah true enough. Even if the data they’ve got was 100% accurate and easy to prove in court, they’d still be stuck having to pay out the arse for lawyers just to appear in court.

Yeah, it would be nice to have an actual list so we’re not reliant on their numbers alone. But unfortunately telling only half the story is something Proton seems to do quite a lot.

On the bright side, the actual privacy data for this was by Proton’s own admission from Exodus, so while its probably not feasible for you to skim 65K apps on your own, you can at least see the data for specific VPN apps you might be worried about.

Corporations have never cared about the children. In other countries, the same corps that preach about caring for children have them working as slaves in factories. Don’t think for a second that they care.

In my eyes anyone wearing one of these is a pervert. I simply don’t see who else could be the audience for a purposefully discreet camera built into a pair of glasses. Even Google’s attempt at glasses were more overt that these. I’d say Meta is shameful, but that’s not exactly a shocker to anyone at this point.

Edit: Seen a few suggestions, but my counterpoint to all of them is - you don’t need the camera to discreet fir any of these purposes. You’d only need it to be discreet if you didn’t want people to realise you were filming, which just seems aimed towards perverts in my mind.

Ideally one would walk everywhere or take public transport, and in Europe at least a lot of people do…

But even then that’s not always feasible - especially if you live in a country that has actively sabotage both those methods of transport - so making the cars they drive able to operate off of renewable energy (dependent on their source of electricity) is better than ranting like an old man and doing nothing

Given what looks to be a simple task with a tight deadline, but is actually rendered almost impossible by bottlenecks the people who gave the task didn’t forsee - and then getting blamed for not being able to complete the task.

Sounds like a day at my old job.

I personally dislike LLMs for their environmental impact and corrosiveness towards human culture, and I still think this was an unfair test. It had essentially no access to the budget it was supposed to have available due to API bugs, and was blocked from any form of advertising except spam marketing that its creators punished it for using. The fuck was it meant to do, shit money out from its arse?

Theoretically that’s what the 2A guns are meant to be for…

But doesn’t really work out that way when the adversary is your own Government, who has access to very arguably the best armed police force and military in the world, and is more than willing to turn those on you.

I can think of a couple of rules that could prevent a lot of the more blatant cheating:

• All computer generated coursework must have some form of change tracking enabled, thus the assessor can see the way the essay was written.

• All computer generated coursework must come with an accompanying oral assessment where the student has to discuss their work and research methodology.

The former would make it difficult to copy directly from ChatGPT, as the lack of any editing would leave an obvious fingerprint

… And passing the latter would require a level of understanding that would be difficult to replicate if you hadn’t done the research yourself.

Why go through all the hassle of getting a warrant when you can instead coerce the person you want to detain into doing something you can label as a criminal act and detain them for that.

So much less red-tape, and you get to stomp on someone’s rights in the process. Sounds like an easy win to me /s
