  • Nope. I don’t use a script. While I am aware that some people on Lemmy do, I don’t. Here’s what I do for my steps (which you can verify by looking at the specific timing of each post).

I open up a tab and I open up a file explorer. I split them so the files are on the left side and the tab is on the right. Then I middle click the folder called ‘Lemmy’ which opens up the posting page of every single community that I post in. I then click on a folder for each appropriate community. The files are named a random string of letters and I scroll to the bottom of the folder and start looking up from there. I find ones that I like to post at the moment that make me giggle and then I drag the file to the ‘browse’ button on the new tab. While it is uploading I make up a title (usually shitty). When the file is done uploading, I scroll down to the bottom of the page and click submit. When the page loads and shows the file was uploaded correctly, I close the tab and move on to the next one. If the file didn’t upload correctly (or if I change my mind on a title or something) I edit the post. Then I move on to the next tab.

The files are not uploaded at the same time. Some have minutes between, some have seconds. Depends on how long it takes for me to find a post that I like.

And just because why the fuck not… I’m going to go ahead and do a bunch of posts right now while listening to the stupid BBC music that I usually do and record me doing what I do. Just to shut @NotASharkInAManSuit@lemmy.world up. Takes no real extra effort from me but will either demonstrate that the dude is just being antagonistic for the sake of it or if he’s actually willing to listen to anyone.

    Edit: Done.

Edit 2: You know, you can just admit fault. Way more respectable than deleting everything in the argument.

  • I had somebody send me an essay written by chat GPT a couple of days ago It was going off about all the various retcons that Star Trek Discovery had done as well as all the times they broke canon, specifically with technology. It’s straight up made up multiple episodes and even invented an entire season. Only one claim was slightly accurate but that one is also disproven, just in a very small way. I hate humanity.

  • I’ve just gotta get more hard drive space to open it up.

I don’t know if you’ve ever seen the show Fringe but I love it. Has a lot of Control vibes/flavor but came out years before. There’s an episode of it where a guy is able to sort of ‘predict’ certain events that are about to happen. Some level of precognition. Gets these vividly intense visions of a particular event and has to make it via a diorama or some type of artistic expression. Episode explains what is going on with him and why he can hear it. There are also a few other letters scattered throughout the Bureau that seem to suggest there are some inate abilities in a lot of people. I don’t know if I made this theory or read it in the game but I started to think that there were ‘psykers’ or something that the Bureau were keeping an eye on to be able to detect/notice various anomalies. Wondering if that poor fucker could be one of those.

Control had me begging for more and, luckily, it gave me more. The game having as many text docs as it does pissed off a few friends but made me ecstatic. SO MUCH LIVING IN THAT WORLD!

  • And if you want to remove this post even without looking into things, I completely understand. Adding that onto my posts is definitely odd. Especially when I never even did it for my own help post last month. I do not want to cause shit. I want to help him but I don’t want to upset a balance or fuck people over or whatever. Not my goal here at all. So removal for any reason at all? Your discretion and completely understand. You have nothing but my apologies.
