So, what’s your alternate username from lemmy.ml?
Since I invariably wind up getting “name suits” types of comments, here’s the explanation behind it:
Around the turn of the millennium, I was trying to come up with a username to use on a particular site that had a shortish character count limit for usernames. My goal was something related to the fact that I would often be making my points in arguments with “holier-than-thou” types by taking what they were saying, and turning it on its head so the offensive stuff was directed back at them.
I also happened to learn shortly beforehand that many years ago “'ape” was somewhat commonly used as a verb to mean “imitate” or “copy.”
I’m sure you can figure the rest out.

The part they always leave out is how you have to wait until you’re on your deathbed to get the good things that would’ve made your life worth living if you’d gotten them decades earlier.
I’d have to get some liquid courage before I could get that into character.
Courage… to go without pants like Winnie?
So, then you’re lying - you’re not actually sorry.

There’s a YUUGGGEEEE difference, tho: Ellison has NEVER been liked by the public at large. His riches never depended upon people liking him.

Trump’s just a (slightly out of control) puppet of the Heritage Foundation. Unless one of them puts a target on Ellison, that’s rather unlikely except by accident - which I’ll admit Trump’s had a lot of.

Please link to sources when throwing around claims like that. I don’t doubt you, but some will & they need to see it for themselves. Plus there’s the issue of how old that information is - anything like that which doesn’t have relatively recent evidence can be too easily dismissed as “outdated notions.”
The letter writer must’ve been fun at parties. Any sense of humor overridden by a need to look for excuses to be offended - what a pathetically sad individual.
Dr. Goodall’s reaction demonstrates she deserved the acclaim she received. Good on her for having lived a good life!

Aww, ain’t you sweet. We need way more of that sentiment nowadays.
“Sub”? Forget where you were?

Helps to follow the crosspost source link to see that the origin is a “haiku” community.

Right-weiners can complain about anything they damned well want to - and they virtually always do, including fabricating insane “justifications” which match the quality of their current mental stability.
This is the source article they worked from. It was linked to via the author’s name, but it wasn’t hard to miss if you weren’t looking for it.
