Use your imagination is my advice. Plenty of programmes blur client/server boundaries and workstation roles. Desktop envs are very capable and wired into huge amounts of your machine

Why wouldn’t you? Desktop integration with your home. Perhaps HA can use that big GPU of yours for local LLM type stuff?
And where is neovim vs vim on here?

We are underprepared in the west for sure. But that’s probably all right. One of the big points from WW1 was that large standing millitaries meant they needed to be used. Armies beget war as much as any other factor. This is why NATO is so important. The collective force of it means that we don’t need to be as prepared. Which has seen unprecedented levels of peace in the west since its inception

Isn’t that just joining the army?

Art of the deal
Trump always backs down, Zelensky should call and see what he’s holding at this stage. Russia has always been the USAs biggest bogeyman, I can’t actually see them pulling out completely

That’s why I have a 65" and sit barely 2m from it. Stick on a 4k Dolby Vision encoded file through Jellyfin. Looks fucking great!

This is a money game, how much are you willing to invest?
This week alone I’ve used Arch, Ubuntu, OpenSuse, and Fedora. Its Arch. By a short way, and mostly thanks to the wiki. Tbh they are all converging, and I go with KDE variants when I use a GUI and no distro does too much to customise it
When does systemd stop? Linux without it is increasingly looking unlikely in the future. Are we not worried about it being a single point of failure and attack vector?
This isn’t a moan about the unix philosophy btw, but a genuine curiosity about how we split responsibilities in todays linux environment.
Seconding uv and adding docker-compose for running dev DBs/services as my recommendation
