The perpetrator was shot and wounded during a gunfight with officers a short distance away from the initial violence, police said.

Katarzyna Cisło, a spokesperson for the Krakow police, told TVN24 that the perpetrator was wearing military-style fatigues and he used a military-type long gun in the attack. Police found many pieces of other weapons, as well as ammunition, in his car.

Why are they even wondering if the firearm was legal or not…if it was a fully automatic rifle, it’s illegal to own in Poland. More than likely this guy got his shit from russia and is aligned with those terrorists. Poland has been a huge supporter of Ukraine, and russia is probably starting to try and cause chaos in the EU as they continue to lose the war. I expect more of these types of attacks to happen, to try and sour the publics support of Ukraine, since the likelihood of the weapons and ammunition came from the war front.

The odds are much greater that this is from a russian apologist. You are correct though ,I shouldn’t speculate. I guess it just annoys me when the news, especially the AP, is acting like they need to find out if the weapons were legal or not, when all they had to do was look at what’s on the law books for firearm ownership in Poland and realize that it’s illegal for civilians to own fully automatic firearms.

I think it’s sufficient to state that you imperiatively don’t should shoot at people or hatm them otherwise, be it legal or not. btw, theamerican perspective on personal firearms is not universally applicable at all.

I don’t think I stated that it should be ok to do so?

Poland also has some of the strictest gun control in the EU. American firearm ownership is a very different animal and that has way more issues than just a “ban or control” guns to solve, most of our violence and gun crime is not because of the firearms, it’s because of how broken our society is.

The fact that this happened in a country with a ton of gun control is just more facts that gun control isn’t going to stop violent people from being violent.

Even in the US, a fully automatic firearm is basically impossible to get without a ton of money and the ATF putting their hand up your ass to make sure you’re who you say you are. The AP is usually a great source for providing just facts and news, so this caught me off guard.
