That said, we also live next to Russia, and we’re going to need to find some way to deal with it. Germany wants to raise tensions more as a justification for an arms industry to replace their failed automotive sector than for real security concerns, IMO.
If you don’t have force ready to go soon you won’t be living next to Russia you will be living in Russia. Step 1 of dealing with assholes is convincing them you will make them as miserable as they make you, only then you can move on to the “how about we both stop making each other miserable?” steps.
Need to go further than that with Russia. They’re already more miserable than Europe but are happy to drag us down in the shit since apparently that’s easier than improving themselves.
