I miss going to my friends’ pads after school/work where I could smoke bowls and play video games or smoke bowls and watch TV/movies or smoke bowls and go to the mall or smoke bowls and go on a hike. your home is only seized when you don’t pay your taxes for years, because you’ve racked up debt by not paying for the services in your community that everyone else is paying.
It’d be cool if that were the case but our corrupt as fuck local government keeps cutting massive property tax deferment deals on huge projects in return for kickbacks. Some are 15, 20 even 50 years no property taxes. The burden of all the growth is hitting a smaller subset of the community and those deals are already set in law. It’s fucked. My property taxes have tripled in fifteen years while my income is stagnant. They’re asking for another increase this year.

Okay? I’ve been watching him a lot longer than that. I read his book when I was 12. Length of exposure doesn’t really matter. There’s nothing particularly brutalizing about any of it. It just makes you think. If that brutalizes you, it’s time to grow up.
