Let me know when it’s available with something comparable to Apple Silicon SoCs.

Siri, set a reminder for when Intel and AMD collapse, and non-x86 PCs finally become reality.

You can use Asahi Linux on Apple Silicon, but you can’t replace Mac OS. I used it for a few years and just stopped because of the partitioning and update issues. I bought a T14 gen 3 and put Void on it. Works a lot better and I could finally upgradey SSD to a 2 TB one.

I’ve been using Asahi Linux on a Macbook M2 for about a year now and generally like the experience. There’s a few things I’m hoping for future improvements, but its definitively “good enough” for my needs now to use daily.

What issues did you run into?

It was just the space that MacOS takes up and how Asahi partitions. I got used to doing the partitioning myself when I switched to Void and now having it done automaticlly annoys me.

I really don’t like Fedora or the package manager too much. It would be great if Nvidia, AMD, or Intel can make their own version of Apples silicon.

My old MacBook M2 was awesome and handled PS2 emulation, Oblivion with mods, and other older games great.
