System76’s COSMIC desktop now requires contributors to certify that pull requests contain no LLM-generated content. The new template also adds a Developer Certificate of Origin.

    Good luck trying to enforce such rules, especially with legal “agreements” that span country boundaries.

      I think the point is more - if you are using LLMs to generate code, why would you try to dodge detection there when you could go to one of the many projects that has no rules against LLM generated contributions, or even encourages them.

        Probably for the same reasons that led them to that specific project in the first place… other projects may not be relevant to their interests.
