I mean, I’m not sure the hysteria is completely unreasonable. AI does pose multiple legitimate threats and should be used responsibly, and not trusted with certain duties. We’ve also seen that the powers that be treat the world around them like a fratboy treats a drunken co-ed (it’s meant to be disgusting), and that the constant growth demanded by the shareholders leaves no room for ethics, morals, or big-picture thinking.

I use AI. I also built my own for simple tasks. I’ve had a lot of experiences with AI at this point, and its generous to say the pros-cons are a wash. The use-cases I and most normies see is AI expediting an already blazing fast enshitification of everything around us.

I feel like a lot of the online discord about it are Chinese/Russian bots generating “look at how unreliable AI is” pictures to manipulate the western powers to shoot itself in the foot. And they use those of us on the left to do it because are greatest Strength is our emotions but it’s also the easiest way to manipulate us.

Outrage works really well on my fellow leftists. And AI makes them so freaking emotional now, it blinds them I feel. Just like we have learned that a tooon of the online outrage from the BLM movement was bot(not literal bot) generated. And it made us look insane and that’s how we partially got trump
