      The global south is more dependent on oil from the middle east, especially for food production. With both straits closed, hundreds of millions of people in the global south are at risk of starvation. The USA is fucking up everybody’s shit.

          I think you meant “Iran allows”. That does not equal “strait is open” since US is blockading the strait from maritme traffic to/from Iran.

          This is true and no one is mentioning this in the news. Meaning the media is helping to demonize the Yemenis here.

          Shutting down the red sea is a major escalation card for them to play now, if they have the hardware to do it after the US gets involved. The Suez Canal being shut down would add like 30% to shipping costs or something to go around Africa.

      When has the global south ever gotten the choice to not be embroiled in the empire’s machinations?
