Mainstream politicians around Europe have expressed alarm after the far-right Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) swept to a historic state election victory in Germany, while nationalist figures cheered the result as a mandate for change.
While falling just short of an absolute majority, the AfD surged into first place in the Saxony-Anhalt state election on Sunday, exit polls showed, putting the far right within reach of power at the state level for the first time since the second world war.
I mean, I can’t say I would see a reason to vote against that if I didn’t think they were lying and just using it as a way to get control. If one guy is pointing out the problem and saying we’ll figure out a solution or we have a solution, and the other is trying to find reason to say it’s not a problem, I’ll take the former. At least one of them figured out the pain points - the other bunch are at best inconsiderate if not just oblivious.
