I went on regular daily walks/jogs for about 8 months and I can say the chemicals only came in when I was home, never when I was out doing it.

Yeah jogging never felt good while I was doing it, no runner’s high at all, always a slog. But did feel much better on a day I ran, than on a day I did not. I ran back then because the only free time I had was 5-6 in the morning, and no money, running has almost no barrier to entry. Put on shoes and go.

Now I just ride electric bike (I pedal it) to work and do yoga, lift and walk, work in the garden -build activity into normal life by not driving and growing food, nothing active that I don’t like to do, still feel good in my body & mind. Aerobic exercise does more, but anything helps.

I guess I just haven’t found one I enjoy. Every form of intentional exercise I do always has me checking the time to see how much longer I have to do this till I can say I did enough. Closest I got to enjoying anything close was playing exercise themed videogames like Wii Fit or Ring Fit.

Go dancing, maybe? Or just start walking places as your transportation method, that kept my mom slim her whole life. I am not a super active person, love to sit & read too, but a lifetime of experience has taught me that I will not sleep well or eat enough if I do not exercise or do plenty physical activity.

It’s running in particular I dislike, but running in particular really helps anxiety.

I don’t live in a walkable area. Getting anywhere outside my neighborhood requires crossing a highway with no crosswalk or stops. As for dancing I got no idea if a place for that exists around here. Plus I tend to not like dance music.
