It always amazes me how people can be so ridiculously shitty that they can’t see how much easier it is to just not be an asshole. She could have tipped out a hundred grand to every single person that worked in that diner and still walked away rich with none of the bullshit drama that came with this.

Every restaurant I have ever worked in tipped out from the front of house, its a perfectly normal practice in every restaurant in America.

You joke, but based on their comments and weirdly intense energy about this absurd situation, I can only assume they’ve literally been in this situation before as one of the coworkers.

I appreciate where you’re coming from, thanks. Though I will say that “weirdly intense energy” isn’t rare on social media and could even suffice as a summary of a good number of interactions. Sometimes people just get worked up over things and I don’t blame them, I’m sure we could dig up a bunch of studies on social media and “rage engagement” as a design principle.

Found the person that has never worked in a restaurant and has no idea how tipping works, but don’t ever let ignorance stop you.

Clearly you’re lashing out, but I’ll mention that I have worked in restaurants. Don’t let that stop you from being aggrieved by a situation that doesn’t concern or affect you though!
