I have to agree, but with this admin it’s equally likely that someone incompetent did it by mistake, didn’t notice, was later told about it, and then didn’t care enough to fix it.
Make more things.

I think if there were real trillions of value being created by AI you’d hear more of them getting on board with UBI. But since they know it’s all make-believe they don’t want to stir the pot, just keep things going long enough to cash out at a high valuation.

We have a new Diogenes in our midst!
I know a few married teacher couples who take months-long vacations in the summer.

Is it even “hacking” when you’re just asking the computer politely?
And they say unions hinder innovation.

Right. And that somethingElse is probably not Unix

So what you’re saying is it’s not Linux, it’s somethingElse/Linux ?

This is beyond insane. Besides all the usual reasons, the shingles vaccine was recently demonstrated to be the single most effective deterrent to Alzheimer’s and dementia, reducing the risk by something like 20%. I can’t believe that an older MAGA would be any more excited about getting dementia than a normal person.
In the late 1990s I wrote an Alias|Wavefront plugin called greeble that built a bump field + height field from texture so artists could paint greebles on by hand, so whether or not that’s the proper way to do it, it’s been a texture thing for a long time.

“Turn into” ?

I imagine he’s going to try and deploy this in that totally unregulated Freedom City that he and Trump are trying to launch on some federal property in CA.
It’s like a shitpost on a shirt. You have absolutely no idea where this guy’s values lie (or if he has any). It’s perfect.

I had to stop watching that show because too many episodes were hitting too close to home.

Seriously. When downloading an MP3 carries a fine of $30,000 to as much as $150,000 per download, damages of a measly $5,000 maximum for facilitating, enabling and even encouraging child exploitation is beyond insulting.

While a win, it’s pocket change for Meta, who will be further disincentivized to fix the problem when even a loss is so cheap.
Jurors found there were thousands of violations, each counting separately toward a penalty of $375 million. That’s less than one-fifth of what prosecutors were seeking.
Meta is valued at about $1.5 trillion and the company’s stock was up 5% in early after-hours trading following the verdict, a signal that shareholders were shrugging off the news.
Juror Linda Payton, 38, said the jury reached a compromise on the estimated number of teenagers affected by Meta’s platforms, while opting for the maximum penalty per violation. With a maximum $5,000 penalty for each violation, she said she thought each child was worth the maximum amount.

oh absolutely, but generating tokens is how nvidia gets paid, and companies are terrified of being left behind if they’re not 100% onboard with LLM workflows

It’s not a metric it’s a marketing stunt.

I didn’t read it that way. I think he’s saying “bosses: if you’re paying a $100k salary to a dev and not also paying $50k for tokens, your dev isn’t working hard enough”.
It’s a right race. I think Amazon is still ahead though.
