I feel like he’s really onto something about real work, but he’s missing the point of society. The purpose of our economy is to employ everyone, thus minimizing the negative societal effects of supporting unemployed people, and enabling people to improve their lives. If you optimize a society to produce more GDP by firing people, you’re subtracting value, not adding it.
What could possibly be gained by this? I’d like to point out that the US government is still shut down because congress hasn’t managed to pass a budget.
On the downside, we’re not building a better world, but on the plus side, we at least have more PFAs than we did before!

Not sure what universe where discussing the merits of 480p at 45 ft is relevant, but it ain’t this one. If I’m sitting 8 ft away from my TV, I will notice the difference if my screen is over 60 inches, which is where a vast majority of consumers operate.
