Yep, definitely seems that way, and for a leftist espousing anti-establishment ideas that raises suspicion for me. Glowing coverage in bastions of liberalism like the Guardian and Pod Save America are kinda strange. He’s kinda a nepo celeb so it’s probably just name recognition and he’s seen as safe and good for a story


More common than you might think. When I lived in a remote Amazonian village in the early 2000s, a local teacher was named Hitler (his given name). This area probably barely had contact with the capital in the 50s, let alone Europe. It wasn’t uncommon to choose a powerful or famous name, and Hitler was probably just someone who they knew changed the world.
There were other interesting names still being given too. My favorite was a baby named Shakira Marley while I lived there.
Massive American unions usually have anti-strike clauses (in this case it’s actually a law), so they will never be able to go that far. Outside organizations would need to organize wildcat strikes of those workers instead. I would say a good strong union even with a clause could still prep their members to respond to a strike call though, they just can’t legally do it themselves
