Old-school Star Fox had the best model, but the graphics in the middle photo are hands down the best of the three.
I remember thinking in the early 2000s that more polygons = better graphics, but that absolutely began changing when gaming went into the Xbox One / PS4 era. Especially now, I just want games that are well optimized and allow for more settings customization.

211·1 month agoThe most competent leadership was forced out in favor of sycophants. Combined with military contractor corruption that surrounds the military budget, and it’s no wonder this looks worse than in the early 2000s
This made me kinda queasy looking at it lmao.
I actually quit everything last year. I still get some cravings every now and then, but throw that onto the pile of consequences from my youth. Not the worst withdrawals I’ve experienced, but definitely was the hardest to fully quit.

News@lemmy.world•Teenage-Looking ICE Agents Spotted at LaGuardia Airport, Recruitment Practices Under Scrutiny
1·2 months agoI’ve not really met friendly German Police, but nearly all of them are very professional. If I had a problem or a comment, I had no reservations about talking to an Officer because they study and know their laws relatively well, and are strict with their processes when escalation is warranted
As with all areas, know what you can and can’t do. Know what is suspicious and what’s accepted in a culture that isn’t yours. Most Polizei I’ve spoken with were more likely to talk to you or fine you before letting you go if you did something wrong (Polizei in Leipzig and Berlin can eat shit though).
Everything is relative

27·4 months agoI live in Boston. The Greater Boston region genuinely cares more about education than any of other place I’ve lived in the US. Keep in mind that studying here, at any of the Universities, for higher education is ridiculously expensive - partly because so many people compete to be here.
Things like these are why we need to fund higher education. A knowledgeable populace brings innovation, a healthy economy, and diversity which creates a feedback loop for all of it

News@lemmy.world•Gen Z workers think showing up 10 minutes late to work is as good as being on time — but baby boomer bosses have zero tolerance for tardiness
422·4 months agoThis is horseshit. Boomers may be more strict about being there at a certain time, but they don’t give two shits if you come in early or stay late.
I can’t tell you how many times I or my Gen-Z coworkers would stay an extra 2-3hrs (or I would come in early) and none of that even mattered the day we come in a little late. Any other bosses and it’s no issue, but fucking boomers seem to care more about being at work at a certain time rather than how much anyone actually works.

15·7 months agoFull video is worth a watch. The arresting officer had a DUI 2yrs ago and had no sympathy for the agent the longer the stop went on, even told the agent to “man up and deal with it.” The agent thought he’d be let go since he’s also in law enforcement, but the cop wasn’t having it.
